The Kingdom of Towers

Day I:
Arrival in Tbilisi. Metting at the Tbilisi international airport with a sign of “Iber-Tour”. Transfer to the hotel.

Day II:
The citybreak tour offers you the sightseeing of Tbilisi, visiting the historic and architectural monuments, describing the 1500 year-old history of the city. Ancient districts are remarkable with ornamented houses with balconies, narrow streets and diversified architectural style. Here, You can meet the temples of 6 different religious confessions, neighbouring each other.
You can visit the following sights during the city-break tour:

  • The Sameba cathedral (the monastery complex, with the main large – scale dome church of 97 meters high);
  • The Metekhi Church (dated with the XIII century, from which you can enjoy the great view over the ancient districts of Tbilisi);
  • Abanotubani and the Mosque (in this part of the city, there are sulfur baths; this was where the legend about founding Tbilisi was born);
  • The Narikala Fortress (medieval castle, erected on the beautiful hill, creates the composition of the most beautiful city view);
  • The top of the Sololaki mountain, “The Mother of Georgia”;
  • Zoroaster (fire worshiping) temple, named “Ateshga”;
  • Bethlehem churches of the “Kldisubani” (rocky area);
  • Synagogue;
  • Meidani and the Armenian Church;


  • Art Saloons, workshops, exhibitions, etc;
  • The Sioni Cathedral (XII century dome church);
  • Walking along the riverside, across the “Bridge of Peace” (the contemporary architectural model, presented in the combination of the ancient town);
  • The King’s Square;
  • The Anchiskhati Church (one of the most ancient Christian buildings in Georgia, dated with VI Century);
  • Theatre of Marionettes;
  • Ethnographic museum in the open air (representing the architectural models, characteristic to all the four regions of Georgia, the objects of local people describing their everyday life);

Back to the hotel in Tbilisi. Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day III:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure to the Samegrelo – Zemo Svaneti. Arrival in Zugdidi. Lunch;

  • Visiting the residential museum of the Dadianis’ Dynasty. (The Palace rich in the museum fund dated with the XIX century, where one of the three masks of Napoleon and the Robe of Virgin Mary are preserved). Departure towards Mestia (the distance of 140 km.).

The road leads along the most beautiful gorge of the river Enguri. Arrival in  Mestia. Check in at the hotel. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day IV:    
Breakfast at the hotel.
Visiting the museums of Mestia and its surroundings.

  • Svaneti Towers (the Svanetian architectural sights, characteristic to this region only; from Mestia, you can enjoy one of the highest mountains in Georgia – Ushba);
  • Christian churches (some of the churches were decorated both from inside and outside in the villages of Svaneti – Mestia, Lenjeri and Latali).
  • The museum of Mestia (the exposition is rich in ethnographic material, characteristic to the everyday life of the Svanetian people; the most ancient manuscripts, churches and national objects, describing the local customs and habits are represented in the museum).

Lunch in Mestia ;

  • Visiting the Chaladi (at this snowy place, where the ice never melts throughout the year, you will see how rivers are born in mountains and flow out from the flank of hills);

Back to the hotel in Mestia; Dinner and overnight stay.

Day V:  
Breakfast at the hotel.
Departure towards Ushguli (the distance of the 42 km.) passing through the villages of Svaneti. On the way, visiting the towers and churches. The way winds across the mountain range along the river gorge of the Mulkhura, keeping on the source of the river Enguri.
Ascending the Ushguli, (Lunch) visiting the following sights:

  • Ushguli (it is included into the list of the UNESCO World Cultural Heritages. The Ushguli community consists of three villages, where there are Svanetian towers and residential houses. It is located 2200 m. above the sea being famous as the highest permanently populated region of Georgia).


  • Village Chazhashi museum (with the ethnographic expositions, characteristic to the everyday life of local people).
  • The Lamaria complex (this complex consists of separately standing towers, a small fence and a church. You can see the highest mountain top of Georgia, called – Shkhara from here, opening the glamorous landscape view with a dozen of Svaneti towers).

Back to the hotel in Mestia.
Dinner and overnight stay.

Day VI:
Breakfast at the hotel.
Back to Tbilisi; On the way, stopover in Kutaisi for lunch.

  • Visiting the Prometheus’s cave (a huge cave, with karstic formations representing the great attraction for international tourists. The most remarkable thing about it is the underground rivers and diverse natural landscapes).

Back to the hotel in Tbilisi. Dinner and overnight stay.

Day VII:
Transfer to the Tbilisi International Airport.
